Rod McDermott

Rod McDermott serves as the President and CEO of McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders. He is also the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of McDermott & Bull Executive Search, the largest retained executive search firm headquartered in Orange County, and one of the largest in the West. Rod has worked with leading companies in financial services, healthcare, aviation & aerospace, and technology, including Honeywell, Silverado Senior Living, Union Bank, Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (now Union Bank), and First Republic.

Rod, along with Angela Anderson, started the McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders business unit in 2011 to address an increased client need for time-sensitive solutions to important leadership challenges, and quickly developed McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders into the fastest growing division of McDermott & Bull. Since its inception, McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders has worked with numerous Fortune 500 public and private companies, engaging interim leaders in assignments including CEO and general management roles, CIO, SVP Human Resources, VP of Shared Services, Head of Strategy & Acquisition Integration, and VP of Talent Acquisition, to name a few. McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders has expanded its reach and includes a cadre of over 1,000 senior executive experts from a variety of industries throughout the Western U.S.

Prior to establishing McDermott & Bull, Rod was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the Technology and Emerging Growth practice at DHR International, Inc., the nation’s sixth largest and fastest growing executive search firm. From his extensive experience in the executive search industry, Rod saw an opportunity to serve corporate clients with executive leaders when in need of either a permanent or an interim solution, and therefore, formed MB Interim Leaders.

Prior to joining DHR International, Rod served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Dartron, Inc., a leading manufacturer of computer peripherals and computer security devices under the brand AnchorPad. Rod led the company’s efforts in developing a national dealer network comprised of computer resellers and distributors, including major relationships such as Dell Computer, Micro Warehouse, and Merisel Corporation.

Rod currently serves on the Boards of Partners Bank of California and The Mission Hospital Foundation. He has served on the Boards of THINK Together, the American Electronics Association, and the Orange Coast Venture Group. He resides in Laguna Niguel, California, with his wife Laura and their four children. Rod received a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Rebecca Miller

Rebecca Miller serves as the Senior Managing Director for the McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders practice. Rebecca joined McDermott & Bull in 2012 and, since then, has partnered closely with companies in industries such as healthcare, manufacturing, consumer products, technology and aerospace.  Rebecca works closely with public, private and private equity backed organizations globally including, Zodiac Aerospace, Chicken of the Sea, Apria Healthcare, Oakwood Worldwide and Advantage Sales and Marketing.

Rebecca joined McDermott & Bull Executive Search in the summer of 2012, and partnered closely with Principal Consultants on executive level retained searches.  During her time in retained search she collaborated with the nation’s leading corporations to identify executive level individuals to assume permanent leadership roles for the firm’s clients.  After a year and a half of recruiting and business development efforts she was promoted to lead the McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders Practice as the Director of Business Development.

Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, Rebecca was the Head of Sales and Marketing for a privately owned, southern California dental company.   Her career has been spent in sales and marketing roles with leading companies nationwide, such as John Hancock Financial Services, WilmerHale and The Art Institute of Phoenix.  She currently resides in Dana Point California with her husband Brian and daughter Kaiya with a son on the way.  Rebecca graduated with a Bachelors Degree in International Politics from Suffolk University in Boston, MA.

James Hickey

James Hickey serves as Senior Managing Director for McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders. Prior to joining McDermott & Bull, James served as National Managing Partner – Private Equity Services at Tatum, concentrating on helping private equity firms improve operational performance and respective returns on investment of their portfolio companies throughout the country. He holds over twenty years of experience in private equity, working with companies on M&A activities, IPO process, and SEC compliance. Before joining Tatum in 2008, James was Senior Vice President at Merrill Corporation.

Angela Anderson

Angela Anderson serves as the Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Operations for McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders, which she launched along with Rod McDermott in 2011. Angela is responsible for candidate relations, strategic partnerships and focuses on identifying executive talent to quickly provide interim executive solutions for the firm’s clients. McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders expanded nationally in 2014 and currently has a cadre of over 5,000 senior executive experts from a variety of industries throughout the U.S.

Prior to McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders, she worked with its parent company, McDermott & Bull Executive Search, first as a Senior Recruiting Associate and then as the Market Development Manager, leading the firm’s internal recruiting efforts and the strategic development of new markets. Earlier in her career, Angela was a Senior Account Executive & Recruiter at a boutique staffing firm in San Diego, California.

Tamra Solis

Tamra Solis serves as Vice President of Talent Acquisition for McDermott & Bull Interim Leaders. Tamra joins McDermott & Bull with over twenty years of executive search and interim experience. Most recently, she served as Talent Management Partner at Tatum, identifying critical talent to help companies through new business initiatives and challenges. Prior to Tatum, Tamra held roles at Robert Half International and Manpower Professional.
